Hello, and welcome back...if you're still following! It's been a VERY long time since I posted anything to my blog. I've been a very neglectful blogger and I apologize for that. Life just got hectic and I had to take a hiatus. But the good news is...I'm back!!
So what's been happening? Well for starters, I have a WONDERFUL man in my life. He's one reason I've been so busy. We've been having a great year and really enjoying just spending lots of time together. You'll probably be seeing quite a bit of him in my future posts. I'm already so far behind on scrapbooking our adventures together, but I'm trying to catch up.
I'm still teaching 5th grade. This past school year, I had 33 kids in my classroom! It was definitely a challenging year...and I'm LOVING summer vacation It's been one of my busiest summers yet. I'm definitely NOT ready to go back in the fall. I'm sure I'll get to that point eventually, but for now...nah! There's still so much to do before the summer ends and we definitely have a jam packed calendar.
I just returned home from the 2010 Close To My Heart Convention in Washington, D.C. It was wonderful. It was also one of the motivating factors in my rejuvinating my blog. I decided that I really want to jump-start my scrapbooking and stamping again. It's been way too long, and I enjoy it too much to let it go. I love being creative and love reliving my adventures through my scrapbooks. One of the ideas presented at convention was that of holding yourself accountable. Taking control of your business, making goals, and monitoring those goals. So for myself, I have set some CTMH goals.
Goal #1: Get some scrappin' done!! I've really ignored all my wonderful papers, stamps, and embellishments for much too long. Dave (that's my guy) knows how much I love my scrapbooking and has been very supportive. In his words, "Honey, it's something you love doing. You've got to make time for it." Isn't he amazing?! How am I doing on this? Well...I've started getting together with some friends a couple times a month and I've completed a couple of pages that I'm really happy with. It's slow getting back into the groove, but I've got some great pictures and great papers to play with.
Goal #2: Rejuvinate my blog. My blog is one way I can hold myself accountable. It's out there for everyone to see. We all need to take a break occasionally. The creative juices start to dry up and it gets more and more difficult to create. I think that's what happened to me. But the desire to create is back. I will make time for it...because it's something I love to do.
Goal #3: Make Manager by next year when I attend the 2011 CTMH Convention in Disneyland. I currently have one downline, which makes me a Supervisor. In order to become a Manager, I need to have at least 4 downline and one of them a Supervisor. So I guess I have some recruiting to do. Wanna be a CTMH Consultant? :) Seriously...there are some great benefits and it's a lot of fun. So, in order to find new downline, I guess I have to ...
Goal #4: Get my CTMH business up and going again. The economy has hit my business pretty hard this past year. Scrapbooking and stamping supplies weren't really on the "must have" list of my customers or me for that matter. I really can't blame anyone for keeping their priorities in mind...it's a good thing and the responsible thing to do. But one thing I learned at convention this past year, was how to make it possible for my customers to keep their priorities straight and still be able to enjoy the great CTMH products. I plan to hold workshops that teach my customers how to use the product they already have, and learn some new techniques using those products. Now...I just need to find a place to hold these workshops. Which leads me to ...
Goal #5: Find a location (that I can afford) to hold workshops and gatherings. I've got some leads to follow up on, so stay tuned and I'll let you know as soon as I have some definite plans.
So that's about it for today. A little update, some art, some grand plans...what's up with you? Leave me a comment and I'll be back soon to read it!
Keep Scrappin'.

You go girl! I'm sure you can do it! My business has taken a hit with it being summertime, but I'm hoping it'll pick up again come September. Have fun with it.
