Thank You, Thank You, Thank You...

You can never say thank you too many times, or in too many different ways!  Thank you to my readers who always leave such encouraging and positive comments.  Thank you to those who continue visiting despite my occasional lapses in creativity.  Thank you to my friends and family, who encourage me in all that I do.  Thank you to my wonderful kitties, who keep me company and always seem to know when I need a snuggle.  Thank you to my students, who've reached out over the years to let me know I've made a difference in their lives.  Thank you , thank you, thank you...

I've really been on a roll with this new "Twitterpated" paper pack that is being released next month.   CTMH really did a great job coming out with this wonderfully warm and colorful set.  I think I like it so much because of how versatile it it.  My favorite CTMH stamp set, "Thank You" is really getting a workout now.  On this card, I've done some masking in order to get the design on the center of the card, stamping one part at a time, and combining different stamps from the set.

A Sneek Peek...

Update:  I just can't seem to get enough of this paper!!  I decided to go a little more feminine with this card and liked it so much, I made two more.  You can never have too many thank you cards.

Today's posting is a little sneek peek of one of the new paper packs coming out this fall.  There are some great things in the making with Close To My Heart for the fall season.  Some changes, some new innovations, and of course, new patters of beautiful paper.  This season's paper packs are keeping up with the most current trends in paper crafting and stamping, and bring to life some wonderful color combinations.  My favorite so far is call "Twitterpated" and combines the warm earth tones like Chocolate, Desert Sand, and Colonial White, with bright and vibrant ones like Sweet Leaf, Crystal Blue, and Sorbet.  It's a great combination for the coming season.

So, what I've got for you today is a quick little peek at the Workshop on the Go.  In case you don't know what Workshop on the Go is...imagine that...it's a "kit" that comes with everything you need to create 2 fabulous two-page layouts and six cards, and more, all from the same paper pack.  I made the two layouts in the kit and all six cards, and I still have TONS of paper left over.  Are you ready to get a little taste of things to come...and I mean it when I say a "peek".  I can't let the cat completely out of the bag!

  

I told you it was just going to be a little peek!!  But at least you now have an idea.  I do have another creation for you.  This is not from the WOTG, but with all the leftover paper I had, I just couldn't resist playing some more.

Happy Birthday to me...

Yesterday I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday!  When I first woke up, I really didn't know how it was going to turn out.  I had planned on heading over to Greenfield Village to watch the Historic World Series of Baseball.  Mother Nature, however, had different plans!  It was a steady downpour.  Don't get me wrong, we need the rain, but not on my birthday {insert appropriate whine here}.

So what's the next best thing to do when it's raining out...LUNCH and a MOVIE!!!  There just isn't much in the way of truly good Mexican food around here.  Surprising, I know.  My favorite place, Abuelo's, is about 30 minutes from home.  So that's where we headed.  After a great lunch, we ended up going out to the show and saw "Julie & Julia".  It was great!  Funny, tear-jerking, inspirational...all that a good movie should be.  Meryl Streep is amazing as Julia Childs!  By the time the movie ended, the rain had stopped and we headed to my favorite place...Starbucks!  Have you ever tried a White Chocolate Mocha?  It was wonderful.  Much like a regular Mocha {my fav} but a little creamier.  Interesting.  And what goes so well with a Starbuck's White Chocolate Mocha...Godiva Chocolate covered strawberries!  Decadence at its finest!

After relaxing and enjoying my WCMocha and strawberries, we headed to Archiver's.  That's where I found this absolutely adorable stamp.  I don't usually buy wood stamps, but I just couldn't resist the face on this one!  It's called "Night Things" by Penny Black.  I just love the smiling kitty and his friends...getting ready for a night of "Silly Wicked FUN."

Isn't he just precious?!  The crooked little whiskers remind me of my Scooter.

A Poem to Share...

Just a little background first...blogging can be a very dangerous thing.  I, myself, have been know to loose hours and days somewhere in the blogosphere...and scrap/stamp bloggers are probably the worst!  Each blog shows you great artwork, creativity, and "stuff" you just gotta have!  That of course leads you to "Blogs I Follow" and "Here's where I got this wonderful stamp..." which is just an extension of the endless blogs and artwork that steer you in a whole new direction. 

Well, a few months ago, one of the wonderful CTMH consultants, Jena DeVries, started a monthly blog hop to feature great CTMH products, but more specifically, our Stamp of the Month.  The "membership" has skyrocketed.  We now have over 60 very talented consultants participating on a regular basis.

Fast forward to today and the poem.  Another consultant, Joy Anni, found her self lost in our blogosphere and it inspired her to create this little ditty.  I'm sure it describes more than one of us out there. 

 

Beware of the Blog hop
It's dangerous you see
This is the tale of what
happened to me

I started with one
ideas popped in my head
I continued on hopping
and much to my dread

The dishes lay dirty
all soiled in the sink
But every blog
I visited caused me to think

Just one more
It will be all right
I looked at the clock
it was close to midnight

To all you would be blogger
Unless you have all day
When you hear the blogger calling
turn and run away.

I'm back again today with another card.  This one is a thank you card.  I am finally getting around to using up my stash of paper and embellishments.  I once again used the sketch from Mojo Monday, but did a little "tweeking" as I usually do.  It's fairly simple, but has lots of layering.  It just seems I can't just stick with a pattern they way it is.  Anyway, this is a sweet little "Thank You" card I made.  I acutally tried my hand at paper piecing for the first time.  I stamped the girl with embossing powder on colonial white cardstock and colored it in.  Then I stamped her again on a polka-dot piece of paper from "Perfect Day" and cut out just her dress.  I think it turned out pretty good.

I decided that I'm going to build up my stash of thank you cards.  As a teacher, it seems like I'm always in need of one, whether it's for something a child had done for me or a parent volunteering.  I'm going to make up a box of thank you cards so that I always have one on hand and ready to send out.  Here's the one I did today:

Paper:  CTMH "Key to My Heart", CTMH Colonial White Cardstock, CTMH Sorbet Carstock, CTMH "Perfect Day" (her dress)

Stamp Sets: CTMH "Family Ties-Adult" (C1346), CTMH "Thank You" (D1361)

Embellishments: CTMH Sorbet mini brads, black embossing powder, CTMH inks & blending pen, ribbon from my stash
